Till June 30: Journeys to the Centre – an exhibition of paintings by Sovan Kumar – at DakshinaChitra.
June 23-24: Gramiya Makkal Thirunal. The annual village festival is back with its myriad activities of the village community. Various competitions have been organised such as the Kolam competition and a Kho kho match for women, top spinning and sack race contests for children and Kabaddi competition for men. A wide spread of village delicacies will be available at the food stalls such as tender coconut water, ice cola, sweet corn, butter milk and panagam. This year, the women are also encouraged to display the handicrafts made by them at DakshinaChitra.

DakshinaChitra Museum is organizing a five day training program on Introduction to Conservation of objects on all Saturdays in June from 10: 30 am to 4.30 pm. Those who join the course can bring their own objects for hands on experience in conservation.
Objects of heritage value find a place in Museums and cultural institutions. These objects are organic, in-organic, metals and paintings of different medium. They need to be preserved for posterity. For details and registration: 98417-77779
